JEN & TYLAN
After meeting on a ski slope in Vermont, Jen & Tylan bonded over their passion for the environment and fell in love over many delicious meals, so it’s not too surprising they started a company together to bring sustainable delicious food to everyone’s table. But it wasn’t until these two New England natives (she’s from New Haven, CT; he’s from Yarmouth, ME) took a walk in the woods that the idea for Walden Hill was born. They now find themselves traveling across New England to make that idea a reality with their dog Chase at their side – who is very sad he was cropped out of this photo!
We couldn’t do what we’re doing without an amazing group of partners. From Restaurants, Grocers, Butchers, Farmers and Landowners, it’s a team effort to bring the highest quality Walden Hill products to you. We’re also always looking for more people to work with, so please contact us if you’d like to be involved.
1% For The Planet
We are proud to have joined the 1% for the planet community during our first year of business to demonstrate our dedication and commitment to promoting environmental sustainability in our practices and in our communities.
The 7,800 acre Yale-Myers Forest in northeastern CT is where Walden Hill was born. This sustainably managed working forest is an excellent example of what we’re trying to promote.
Bascom Hill is both a sustainable forest and farm. Small scale production of maple syrup, hay, and apples supplement the main focus of this farm – acorns! And hopefully one day pigs will join the scene as well.
Speckled Rooster Farm
Speckled Rooster Farm was started 3 years ago by two CT natives passionate in producing sustainable, honest, good food for their community. In addition to premium pork they produce greens, eggs, chickens and rabbits.
Skunk Hollow Farm
Skunk Hollow Farm was started by two Vermonters with a hive of bees in their backyard and a passion for fresh food. In addition to premium pork they produce turkeys, chickens, eggs, honey and apple cider.
Flanders Nature Center
Flanders Nature Center & Land Trust acquires, preserves, and manages land; and uses the land to promote appreciation of nature, art, and the environment.
New Haven, CT
Solar Youth empowers New Haven’s at-risk youth to achieve lifelong success through programs that connect them to the environment, their communities and each other.
